MATOS® RIFD Technology – How does it work?

The MATOS® RFID system is utilising very precise high-powered UHF RFID antennas. Having the antennas mounted on two axes, means that products which are not completely straight in the internal chamber are still able to be read ensure the accurate reading ability with our antennas. MATOS® RFID Refrigerators have also been designed to feature an internal chamber design that shields from the surrounding environment, eliminating any false reads to occur from nearby products which may also be RFID tagged.

A standard feature of the MATOS® RFID system is for the RFID Reader to complete Inventory scans on a regular basis, at the user’s preference. By scanning regularly and upon door close, the RFID inventory is a live stocktake of all products within the Refrigerator at each reading. Our RFID solution also provides automatic reports to be sent to the user detailing a stock count, stock that is running low and stock which has or going to expire. Custom reports can also be generated 24/7 via the RFID web based platform.

The MATOS® Monitoring platform has a robust auditing system to ensure all data entering the database is read only so at no point can the data be modified - only appended to. All data is kept for a minimum of 15 years, therefore the system conforms with FDA CFR Chapter 21, part 11 regulations on data storage and retrieval.
